What's happening to all the good blogs? Le Bitchboi, Pussyboi? Matt and Dan have this sad "please don't delete us" banner... RT... maybe you can host these blogs for everyone? Hope someone has archive backups of these guys...

Blogger has been suspending gay porn sites for years, sometimes under the auspices of copyright violations, but I suspect that there is a concerted effort by Google to censor gay material.

In fact, whole blogs have sprung up in response: http://googlebloggerclosesgayblogs.blogspot.com/

I once saw a blog that tried to catalog all of these censored sites and redirect viewers to the new location of the site, after its owners had found a new host for it. I am still trying to locate that particular blog. As I recall, it had a very thorough catalog.

Blogger is not the best place to host a gay porn blog precisely because of their censorious history. But many people use Blogger because it has an easy design. It is best to blog through another host.

Yes, Google/Blogspot has been deleting blogs for a while now. It's just finally affecting sites you guys care about. There's even a recent thread discussing it on a gay webmaster forum. If you have advertising or unlicensed videos on your blog you're more likely to be deleted than other blogs.

I tried hosting a few blogs for people a while back and found it a bit frustrating and unrewarding, but honestly I wasn't doing it the way I should have been doing it. The way I was doing it was rather labor intensive.

Do you guys want me to set up blog hosting?

A guy I know and respect (long, solid reputation in porn) has Best Male Diaries - which is blog hosting for sex and porn bloggers. It's the general idea of what I'd do if I set up hosting though not particularly "bareback", but he's done it with more polish than I'd probably manage. [He also runs a bunch of other sites including Best Male Blogs, which you may know.]

I looked at Best Male Diaries, but it was way to hard to get to grips with for the occasional blogger like me. I am aware of the risk with being on blogger, and it worries me.

Each day i update the blog, i take an XML back up of it just in case.

I would love to take the blog and put it on my own servers ultimately, but as others have said, Matt&Dan particularly, as well as NaughtyNorth, the problem with this is that you lose a massive amount of followers.... most of my traffic comes from being on blogger. If i took it elsewhere, i would lose all that.

It is a worry, but for the time being i'll stay on blogger.

Its not so much about forwarding traffic, as opposed to the google following system. Blogspot has a great "follower" system, which means that you get massive traffic from there. Yes i could redivert to my new URL, but it wouldn't be on the google following system. My blog is well established, But i do worry massively that if i took it elsewhere it'd die a huge death.

If Best Male Diaries was on a much more user frielndly platform than wordpress, i would look again there.... we use wordpress for our works' website, and it is a total bitch to use... for the occasional blogger like me, it's FAR too indepth.
